Apple has officially launched its iPhone 16 series at the “It’s Glowtime” event, with the new lineup heading to India soon. The series includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, each offering significant upgrades in performance, camera technology, and design. Pricing starts at ₹79,900 for the iPhone 16, with pre-orders available from September 13 and retail availability beginning September 20.  Apple iPhone 16 & iPhone 16 Pro Models: Key Specifications and Features

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus continue the design tradition of their predecessors, offering 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively. However, both now feature upgraded brightness, reaching a peak of 2000 nits with the ability to dim as low as 1 nit. A new vertical camera setup includes a 48MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultrawide lens with autofocus, making macro photography possible.

 The iPhone 16 Pro offers a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max features a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both models maintain a titanium body, available in four finishes, including a fresh “dessert titanium” color. A standout across all models is the introduction of a Camera Control button, which replaces the Ring/Silent switch, offering tactile feedback and various shooting modes. Pro models will receive a two-stage shutter via a future software update.

 Internally, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are powered by the A18 chip, delivering a 30% performance improvement over the A16 and enabling Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools and Clean Up, previously exclusive to Pro models. The Pro models are equipped with the more powerful A18 Pro chip, featuring a 16-core Neural Engine that is 15% faster and supports hardware-level ray tracing for advanced gaming.

 Camera upgrades in the Pro models include a 48MP “fusion camera,” a new 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 5x telephoto lens. These advancements allow 4K video recording at 120fps and the ability to apply photo styles post-capture. Battery life across all models sees notable improvements, though Apple has not provided exact figures. The Pro models also feature Qi2 wireless charging for added convenience.
