Apple’s much-anticipated “It’s Glowtime” event, set for September 9, is set to showcase the iPhone 16 lineup, which includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. While the focus will be on the new AI-powered capabilities for Siri, the display technology of these devices is also rumored to receive notable upgrades.

Display Enhancements with Micro-Lens Technology

According to reports from MacRumors, Apple plans to integrate advanced OLED panels featuring micro-lens arrays (MLA) technology in the iPhone 16 models. This innovation is expected to significantly boost display brightness while reducing power consumption, resulting in enhanced battery life. The micro-lens arrays work by reducing internal light reflection, enabling a brighter display without increasing energy demands.

 Slimmer Bezels with Border Reduction Structure (BRS)

Another key improvement could be the introduction of Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology in certain iPhone 16 models. This technology aims to shrink the bezels by optimizing the internal circuitry layout, potentially offering a more immersive visual experience. While it’s still unclear if BRS will be exclusive to the Pro models, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max may feature slightly larger displays with this design advantage.

Pro Models vs. Standard Models

While the iPhone 16 Pro models are rumored to come with a 120Hz refresh rate, the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus may still be limited to a 60Hz refresh rate.
